Is Abuja Safe?

Image result for abuja

Security in Abuja is generally poor with the amount of robbery and mugging that take place in the capital city at broad day light and i think it as gotten worst with the amount of report i heard in the last few weeks.

week after week we keep hearing of sad events of taxi drivers in the Federal Capital Territory robbing, beating and even raping their passengers, its very sad and if not that it happened to my cousin and a friend in less than a space of two weeks i would have said the statistics i got was unrealistic,
their primary targets are ladies probably cuz they are considered to be weak and wont fight back,
Two weeks ago my my cousin a lady visited Abuja from Lagos for a conference meeting the meeting concluded late so she couldn't return back to Lagos and decided to spend the Night with my family, she took a taxi from Assokoro which is just 10mins drive from where i stay in Garki it was late about 11pm, turns out there was a gunman in the trunk of the car  when the car was in motion he collapsed the back seat and came out of the trunk, with a gun to her head they drove to a dark ally and robbed her of everything including her shoes but she was left unharmed.

The next incident i heard was shocking and sad because an 18 year old girl was rapped and trown out of a moving vehicle after been robbed in Jabi Abuja.
Even incident of drivers using juju (black magic) to manipulate passagers into giving them their debit/credit card and pin.

please to ensure that this dos not happen to you pay attention to the car body language and behavior of the driver before you board while in motion please drop your phones and stay alert you can even insist on searching the boot/trunk of the car before you board.
thank you and stay safe
