Commuters faced severe delays and cancellations in rush-hour today after lightning strikes hit the rail network across the South-East. Forecasters said a weather warning will remain in place throughout the day with heavy showers and more thunderstorms expected. Firefighters in Wiltshire said they had received more than 200 calls due to the severe weather overnight - including a stranded train and a house fire.
