Fake Ebola victims collapse in front of health centres to test if Britain is ready for pandemic

Drills were carried out in different locations across Britain
today as part of a nationwide contingency exercise to test
NHS resources against Ebola. Actors were drafted in to play
infected patients, with one man collapsing at a shopping
centre in Gateshead before being taken to Royal Victoria
Infirmary in Newcastle by paramedics in boiler suits and
masks. He was immediately placed in quarantine and his
blood sent for testing. After being 'diagnosed' with Ebola, he
was transferred to the Royal Free Hospital in London. Another
actor reported 'flu-like' symptoms at a health centre in
Hillingdon after travelling in west Africa. He was tested for the
virus and put in isolation awaiting transfer.
