EFCC obtain warrant to detain Fani Kayode for longer

Vanguard reports that the anti-graft agency which took the former aviation minister into custody on Monday, May 9, and grilled him all through the night, secured the warrant to keep him longer than the normal Fani-Kayode goes spiritualFani-Kayode’s detention is not unconnectedto his receipt of public funds to the tune of N840 million out of the N4 billion payout during the countdown to the presidential election in 2015.With the warrant secured on Tuesday, May 10, Fani-Kayode will be in EFCC custody beyond the stipulated time allowed by law, as a way of enabling them conduct proper investigation into how he got the money, what it was used for and who the beneficiaries are.One of PDP’s media representatives, Deji Adeyanju,has also revealed that the ex-minister is being kept in an underground cell in the EFCC office.He told reporters what happened with former minister, saying:“When we got to EFCC at around 10am, they kept us waiting for about 2hrs before attending to us.“Then a Director met us and said the reasonwhy we invited you is because of campaign funds & another petition against you. Then Fani-Kayode was taken for interrogation. His 2 lawyers & I were allowed to stay with him.”
